Tiago Monteiro Mascarenhas

Tiago Monteiro Mascarenhas founded MRA Advogados in 2013, where he is simultaneously managing partner and head of the firm's corporate, investment and regulatory departments. Over the past few years, he has assisted MRA Advogados' clients (national and foreign) in the process of incorporation, registration and negotiation of tax benefits for investment with the relevant supervisory and regulatory entities, always in strict compliance with the legal provisions in force in Mozambique.

He is registered with both the Mozambican Bar Association and the Portuguese Bar Association, and is also Vice-President of the CPLP International Association of Lawyers “Global CPLP Iuris”, having participated in this context as a speaker at various conferences on investment and mobility within Portuguese-speaking countries.

His relevant experience includes, among other qualifications: (i) legal advice to companies from different sectors of the economy in the registration of foreign investment projects and in the repatriation of capital and profits; (ii) articulation with the main stakeholders in matters of foreign investment (Bank of Mozambique, Tax Authority and CPI “APIEX”) on the ways of framing investment operations and capital repatriation; and (iii) legal advice to companies incorporated under Mozambican law in the restructuring, increase and alteration of capital and governance structure, liaising with the competent regulatory entities.
