Nuno Teixeira

Nuno Teixeira began his professional activity in 1997. In September 1997, he began working as a legal advisor with the regionally based economic group called “Estêvão Neves Group”, which had its commercial activity in the food and non-food trade sector, retail and wholesale. It established a local partnership in Madeira with the Sonae Group, for the franchise operation of the hypermarkets with the “Modelo Continente” brand, which is currently dedicated to hotels and tourism.

Since 1999, Nuno has also worked with the Sonae Group, as an external lawyer associated with the Legal Department, providing all legal advice to the Group's retail business in Madeira, namely with the support to the stores of all the Group’s brands.

In 2001, he joined the Office of the Vice-President of the Regional Government of Madeira, where he served as Deputy until July 2009, when he was elected as a Member of the European Parliament, where he served until July 2014.

Nuno’s practice focuses on litigation (civil, criminal and administrative offenses, arbitration, mediation and other forms of dispute resolution), commercial licensing and relationships with services of the autonomous regional public administration.

His practice also relates to economic offenses, crimes against public health, crimes against the economy and administrative offenses, consumer law and consumer protection.

He also provides consulting and business advice, management and training for companies, working in the fields of commercial and corporate law, employment law, urban planning and real estate.
