Marciano Mendes has a degree in Law from the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies of Lisbon and attended a Master's in Public Administration at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences of the Technical University of Lisbon. He also has a postgraduation in Law of Registries and Notary by the Lusophone University of Humanities and Technologies of Lisbon. He was a University Professor at the Lusophone University of Guinea-Bissau (2011/2012) and he is a Professor at the Jean Piaget University of Guinea-Bissau since 2017. He is currently a lawyer and legal advisor/partner at EQUITAS. He was Executive Director of the Guinea-Bissau Road Conservation Fund from 2012 to 2016 and focal point/Expert of the UEMOA Road Fund, as well as of the UEMOA Road Transport Infrastructure Community Action Program (PACITR/UEMOA). He was also Focal Point/Road Conservation Fund Representative to AFERA (African Road Maintenance Funds Association). He is also a collaborator of the World Bank - Doing Business, in the field of property transfer in Guinea-Bissau, since 2017. As a student, he has performed various roles in youth and student associations. He regularly participates in national and international conferences on various topics and is fluent in French and English.
