Halen Armando Napoco

Halen Armando Napoco holds a degree in Law from the University of Macau Law School. With experience of over three years in one of the largest law firms in the country, Halen Napoco has participated in various advisory services to companies and banking institutions. He is currently Legal Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guinea-Bissau. Halen is also coordinator of studies and research at V-DEM, Varieties of Democracy, a project of the University of Gothenburg School of Political Sciences on democratic and electoral processes in over 150 countries. As a citizen, he has been a human rights activist and one of the founding members of the Association for the Rights of Children (ADC), of which he was president from 1999 to 2002. In 2003, he was elected President of the National Children's Parliament. In 2012, he was appointed Curator-Founder of the Bissau HUB of the Global Shapers Community, an organization of the World Economic Forum. In 2013, he was named Ambassador of One Young World. He is currently Chairman of the Installing Committee of the Association of Residents and Friends of the Ajuda Neighborhood, where he was born and lives, and Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly of Ajuda Sport Club de Bissau. He is fluent in Portuguese, English, French and Spanish.
