The current state of Intellectual Property in congress

On October 8 and 9 the II Congress on Intellectual Property takes place in Lisbon. The event is organized by the legal publishers Edições Almedina in partnership with the Portuguese Association for Intellectual Property (APDI - Associação Portuguesa de Direito Intelectual).

Some of the themes under discussion include the recent Portuguese legislation on private copy; the jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice on the application of the EU directives on Copyright Law and Information Society Law; and the creation of the European Patent for unitary effect and of the Unified Patent Court, recently ratified by Portugal. Rui Medeiros, partner in the SÉRVULO Public Law department, will be one of the specialist speakers presenting papers at this event.
