Sofia Thibaut Trocado publishes master’s thesis

Sofia Thibaut Trocado, senior associate at SÉRVULO and specialist lawyer in Finance Law & Governance, recently published her master’s thesis on the free provision of services in the banking sector (“A Livre Prestação de Serviços no Sector Bancário”). It appeared in the latest edition of the journal Revista da Banca (n. 70).

This is a varied subject with deep practical implications, and the author of the thesis has intended to raise questions that will allow a better understanding of the problems faced by credit institutions (mainly banks) based in other EU member states, and who wish to freely provide services in Portugal. Therefore, the arrangements for the free provision of services is handled in parallel with the rules governing the right of establishment, the analysis being centred around an institutional banking law perspective.
