Predictions for 2015
SÉRVULO IN THE PRESS 06 Jan 2015 in Jornal de Negócios
Paulo Câmara, Managing Partner of SÉRVULO, was asked by the Portuguese business daily Jornal de Negócios to make some predictions for 2015. Here is what he said: “it will certainly be a rallying and intense year.
The biggest challenge for Portugal is to be able to achieve greater economic growth without straining public finances and with the reduction of the debt held by public entities. To this end, clear policies for venture capital and capital markets are expected. So far the signs that were transmitted with the transposition of AIFMD are not encouraging, since this process involved considerable gold plating.
2015 will be a year of deep reflexion on corporate governance, in light of the events that negatively marked the year that has just ended. On the table is the awaited drafting of a unified governance code, and the opportunity to rethink the rules on transactions between related parties is also expected, this being an area that merits serious reconsideration.
From a global perspective, three landmarks stand out for this coming year: the repercussions brought about by the falling of oil prices, the development of the European Banking Union, and the Synodal journey proposed by Pope Francis for the year 2015.”
