Portugal needs real regime pacts
SÉRVULO IN THE PRESS 15 May 2019 in Dia 15
Inês Palma Ramalho, a lawyer in SÉRVULO’s Finance and Governance department, has written an opinion article on the constant changes and instability of the Government and what our country needs in terms of law and politics. “As Portugal is a peaceful nation with little interest in conflict, our chronic difficulty in reaching consensus and maintaining a degree of political stability is somewhat surprising,” says the lawyer in the first paragraph of her article.
“It is evident that this political succession (read, instability) is not good for the country. What is not so obvious – but happens with an alarming frequency - is that every change in government amounts to constant shifts in political direction,” she adds.
