Paulo Câmara contributes to book on AIFMD

NEWS AND EVENTS 02 Nov 2012

Paulo Câmara, partner at SÉRVULO, contributed a chapter to the book Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive: European Regulation of Alternative Investment Funds published by Wolters Kluwer Law & Business.

The book is the first to present an in-depth analytical and critical discussion on the AIFMD – Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive. In spite of it being seen as the most important piece of asset management regulation of the early 21st Century, the directive has been the target of sharp criticism both for the way it is applied and for the level of demands it places on venture capital funds, hedge funds and real estate funds.

In this original work, 34 sector specialists (academics, jurists, consultants, fund managers and others) analyze the AIFMD from every angle, covering structure, regulatory history, scope, appointment and authorization of managers, rules on delegation, and reporting requirements.

Paulo Câmara’s contribution centers on AIFM’s governance and remuneration committees.

Paulo Câmara is co-head of Sérvulo’s Financial & Governance Department, and he specializes in banking and finance, capital markets and governance. He is Vice-President of the Public Company Practice and Regulation Subcommittee of the International Bar Association, and a member of the research group Governance Lab.
