Eduardo Gonçalves Rodrigues, partner in the Real Estate, Tourism, and Urban Planning department, provides insight into the challenges and limitations of the new Land Law for building affordable housing in an interview with Idealista News.
 
"Despite the relatively short deadlines proposed by the Government for the execution of new developments on reclassified land (5 years), the supply of new housing will not be automatic. Much will depend not only on the capacity of available builders but also on another ongoing change - the amendment of the rules on prior control of urban planning operations," explains Eduardo Gonçalves Rodrigues. He acknowledges that this new Land Law "may contribute to reducing price speculation."
