In the year of SERVULO's twentieth anniversary, we bring you a Special Edition of the Momentum Newsletter. This issue includes 10 articles representing several practice areas of SÉRVULO.

Teresa Anselmo Vaz, partner in the Commercial and Corporate Department, published the article «Brief notes on real estate investment companies».

Ana Rita Paínho, partner in the departments of Life Sciences, Intellectual Property and TMT, wrote the article «Last but not least, Portugal has finally implemented legislation for the execution of the GDPR».

Mariana Costa Pinto, senior associate in the Litigation, Life Sciences, TMT and PI Departments, has opted for the theme «The new SPC Regulation - manufacturing waiver».

Inês Palma Ramalho and Cláudia Costa, associates in the Finance and Governance and Commercial and Corporate Departments, respectively, jointly published the article «Balanced representation of women and men on management and auditing boards».

Alexandra Valpaços, associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Department, has chosen the topic «Compulsory arbitration or mediation to resolve low value consumer conflicts» over the marked tendency towards the settlement of consumer disputes through alternative means to court.

Cláudia Amorim, partner in the Litigation and Arbitration Department, working regularly in the area of Corporate Crime and Regulatory Compliance, published the article «Judgment setting case law no. 3/2019: an approach or a separation between procedural administrative offense law and criminal procedural law?»

Teresa Pala Schwalbach, senior associate in the Tax Department, wrote «ATAD Express # 1: Changes to interest deductibility for corporate income tax purposes» setting out the main changes made to Article 67 of the IRC Code.

Margarida Costa Gomes, consultant and cohead for the Labor Department, publishes the article «Whistleblowing or playing trombone» in which she clarifies the practice of whistleblowing and its mechanisms.

Alberto Saavedra, senior associate in the European and Competition Department, is the author of the article «Issues paper on digital ecosystems, big data and algorithms» stating that the digitalization of the economy poses challenges for competition policy.

Finally, Débora Melo Fernandes and Joana Aragão Seia, senior associate and trainee lawyer in the Public Department, respectively, jointly publish the article «The new regime on the conflicts of jurisdiction between the judicial and administrative and tax courts: Law no. 91/2019, of September 4th».
