Miguel Santos Almeida attended the Master in Law and Management at the Faculty of Law of the Nova University of Lisbon, where he presented a thesis on the evolution of the negotiation in the financial markets, with a special focus on high frequency negotiations (A evolução da negociação nos mercados financeiros: em especial, o caso da negociação de alta frequência).
